Warning: engrish ahead. Well, here goes nothing!

What is materialsm? It’s a hobby to collect any materials, from unimportant trivia things, to clothings, bags, or shoes. If your room (or house) is full of things, that means you’re a material person.

Do you know anyone who likes to collect things for his hobby? For example, if that someone likes starwa*s, that person will collect any merchandise that have connection with starwa*s, such as: figure, model kit, lightsaber!, darth vader costume (do-oh…), DVDs offcourse, and such, and such… No I’m not talking about meself here ;p

Have you ever read “Miiko” comicbook? If you have, you can see that Miiko really really likes to collect things, cute-pinky things such as notebooks, pencil, ballpoint, and other elementary school’s equipment. Just as Tom Riddle likes to collect trophies. Please be aware of your children or little brother or little sister, don’t let them behave like this. Because they sometimes become wanting to buy a new writing note just because the design is cute, even though they have enough writing note already.

In this case, yes, you can call that cute, trapped-hair (is it the right word?) Miiko as a material person. And a lot of children and teenagers in Japan behave like this. Well, they are getting enough money from their parents every month to buy such things anyway. If you want to be rich, you should start a merchandising business in Japan ;p

Not only that, if you like to collect the torn-ticket of your favorite movies, or billings, or ANYTHING that you put in your drawers without having any intention to look at it later, then you are also a material person. Well yes, I’m talking about meself rite now ;p

Today’s vast and fast distribution make it possible for you to buy almost anything you want. For example, you can always visit Gramed*a or Palasa*I if you need a certain readings. And somehow, you will always finds yourself visiting those places even in spare time! Even at time when you are hanging-out at malls! And buying one or two books just because it has a nice-eye-candy cover, in the end.

At the very end, you will find your bookshelves filled with books. And you have only read some of it. From “some” of it, you have only read some part of it… And you too, became a material person.

And then you started thinking of opening a mini-library. Maybe with also a mini-café inside. But thank God that someone has already started a similar business, and you can just trust your dream to them, with the hope that you can save more space in your room, save more space in your guilty feeling, lighten your “physical weight”, lighten your “psychological weight”, be useful for the community, be useful for the country (a bit exaggerated here).

Now you know that you don’t really need to “have/own” something, you can just borrow it from someone else! Or maybe if somehow you didn’t managed to get the things you wanted, maybe it means that you don’t really need it, maybe it’s just not your destiny (more exaggeration here). Things can just pass through a bunch of people and be useful to them. In the end, you will realize that what matters is the inside, and not the physical form of it. And no, I’m not talking about sharing files or mp3s over the internet here ;p

Well I should admit that this writing is mainly about me. But if you feel insulted, just take a look at yourself in the mirror, and start brushing your teeth.
